I’m John Alberti, Professor, interim Associate Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and Director of Cinema Studies in the Department of English at Northern Kentucky University.

I am also a writer, scholar, and Jeopardy champion. My main research interests are constructions of gender in cinema, composition studies in the digital age, and the pedagogy of multicultural American literature.

I’ve published articles, books, and textbooks on American literature, teaching about race, rock ‘n’ roll, social class in higher education, gaming studies and the teaching of writing,  the changing nature of romantic comedy, American cinema history, and The Simpsons.
